Symptoms of a duff fuel temp sender?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what they might be?

Would a pretty obvious drop in economy be one? (Guess who's currently got a fault code about this?! :o)

Depends on how its gone faulty, and what readings the duff sender is giving the ECU. On my octy, it had the opposite effect and my fuel economy improved but at the expense of lumpy running and some hesitation under load.

Ahem :o I don't recall the exact fault code but I'm pretty sure it was the open or short to B (or A+?), which usually mean's it's toast.

In an effort to Keep My Forum Tidy, I'll ask here rather than in a new thread:

Is the fuel temp sender the same part no. as the coolant temp sender? My car's getting hard to start from cold, but OK when warm, which has been suggested as a symptom (no fault codes recorded before you ask!), and I have a coolant temp sender knocking about my garage. They look the same, and it's that or the glowplugs, I reckon! Anyone help? (Ross? *ahem* )
