Rear Disc sticking...

Featured Replies

Have concentric 'rust' circles only on my pass. side rear brake disc on a vRS TDi. Funny smell lately from that side of car also...could the disc and pad be sticking/uneven pad-disc contact? opposite side seems fine.Car only has 5,000 miles on the clock. Any one else had this problem?

Cheers

Yes, not quite the same, but almost. The passenger side rear brake is sticking very slightly on my new vRS. This seems to be a common problem on VAG cars with this caliper design.

Not a lot you can do other than check that the handbrake is adjusted correctly and that the pads are free in their slides (remove pads and put a little copper grease on the ends that fit in the slides).

If the caliper is still sticking a bit then a replacement is probably the only answer.

I am going to run with mine for 1000 miles or so and see if it loosens up a bit.
