saggy seat!!

Featured Replies

Hey all.

I have only driven 1800 miles in my fabia 3 estate but have noticed that my drivers seat (as well as making an incessant and highly irritating squeeking noise) has started to look saggy on the base. This worries me as the car is so new and can only get worse. i am a skinny guy so weight isnt an issue, but the seat material looks really thin. I just wondered before I take it to the dealers whether this is a one off thing or has shown itself in anyone else's car? Any feedback much appreciated:confused:

I suspect a weld has failed on the seat base, the squeeking noise will be the metal rubbing against metal.

Not much help to you but I've driven 30k in my Fabia 2 h/b and the drivers seat is still in very good condition - not much difference between it and the rarely used passenger seat, so does sound like yours may be faulty.

ahh, is that a new seat then:(

Mine only squeaks when my 22 stone hubby sits on it. No deformation and no signs of wear after 7000 miles. I only weigh a third of what he does.

ta for that, looks like me then. not sure what they will do about it but off to the dealer i shall go. shame as the rest of the car is great and i hoped this would be my first car without problems:(

Found the seat on my skoda 3 was saggy and squeaked all the time. I have the hight adjustment. After playing around I realised I had no hight added at all. As soon as you take up the slack with the hight adjustment handle, literally a small amount the sag and squeak went away. Looks like in the seat in it's lowest setting has play it it. Taking this up with a small adjustment seems to fix the issue. I think this is a design flaw as it did the same on the test car I drove. Not an ideal solution but nevertheless gets rid of the issues.

I did take mine in and they changed the seat cover and they found it hadn't been fitted to the foam properly. The squeak was indeed the height adjuster:rolleyes:
