Headligth regulator problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks, yesterday when traveling on a really bad road my mainbeams regulator (heigth) failed on right side, when i try to up the lights the motor on the unit sounds like pressed and the lights didn´t mode, on left side are ok, I think maybe something snapped or get caugth and loked the reflector, the motor feels OK because i see that it tries to move the reflector but nothnig happens, in fact I see the base of the motorflexing back because motor power

Any advice on how to get it fixed at home?

THANKS

Alvaro

Basically level adjustors are an electric motor that drives a screw thread, which connects to a balljoint at the headlight end. Since the motor's still running, I think you've either had the joint come out its socket, which should push back together, or the socket break, which might glue up with real Araldite (the heat-curing version, not "Araldite Rapid", the 5-minute curing version which melts if it gets too hot), or might need a new lamp unit.

Ken, I jeut dismounted the lamp unit, the problem was the screws that regulate the height, turned it anti-clockwise and the lights came up and motor start regulating them, both are on same height and work as fine as new

THANKS A LOT!!!
