I cant connect to XBL this evening, the fault code suggests that live is unavailable. I wonder if its just me on my Virgin connection, or if the servers are being updated ready for NXE release at 10am tomorrow.

I was about to say its all being updated overnight.

My consoles not banned from live, the codes I have dont relate to that at all and the error that pops up when you test the connection says there is a technical error. My current console is less than 1 week old, a 60GB model with HDMI. I needed the HDMI so bought this to replace the old core one.

As soon as IACGMOOH is finished ill check to see if I can get on.

Can't sign on to messenger. I was on until about 10mins ago, then got thrown off...now I just get an error message saying service unavailable. Have tried on laptop, pc, blackberry and through my t-mobile dongle connection. I get the same error on all.

My blackberry just states the server is too busy....riiiight!!

You normally get a message if they are doing maintenance.

There should be something on the Xbox.com website but I didn't see anything.

although xbox live is working fine for me at the moment it might be possible they are having some server issues like last week . if it keeps happening contact xbox support and give them the error codes and they can help

xbox.com seems broken this morning.

Just signed in ok. I assume that becuase of the update being uploaded last night, it went offline for a bit.

Still not working for me. I have a caching DNS server at home, so can see the servers the 360 is trying to connect to, the IP addresses resolve correctly but I cant ping them, and if I do a tracert it crashes out in microsofts network.

nothing's broken, both live and xbox.com were taken down in preparation for the NXE update. you should have had a message about this in your inbox

I think you were right Andy, I can now connect to live but the update wont download. No suprise really considering how many must be trying now.

Signed in before I left, I had no issues with signing in this morning. Only downloaded half of it though - the avatar bit came as a second update once I got home.

[EDIT] Microsoft also seem to have finally made the xbox capable of streaming divx from the pc! Hasn't given up on any of my videos yet!
