We had a thread about the beta, i think we need one about the actual game. What are people thinking so far? Is it as good as COD4?

I have to say my experience online is good, it plays just like COD4 just with older weapons. The single player was good while it lasted, if not frustrating in parts when played on hardened.

Me and Colin had a blast of Co-Op last night which i though was alot of fun, would be even better with 4 players

I'm tempted, but i'll see what the general opinion is before I commit to a purchase

The dogs, which i take it are a replacement for the chopper are horrible menacing little things.. run up from behind and rip your throat out!

There is alot more gore in COD5, missing limbs and heads exploding are a regular sight :P

I can't get that poxy beta working so I can't be arsed buying the full game in case it doesn't work.

Although I may try and source a "version" and try that first.

Oh yes.. after a bit of "fun" getting the routers to play nice with co-op i have to say it was good fun.. especially the trenches mission we played.. Alex was on flamethrower duty to clear the trenches and i was handling the above-trench duties with my trusty rifle

The good thing about co-op is you can be in competition with the other players for score, and there are challenges avaialble that count towards your multiplayer points/rank

The bigger machine guns are awesome, just fire off some shots to the arms and legs and watch them fly off in every direction

I hate those kamikaze japs that run at you with a bayonet, quick flame thrower to the face normally sorts them out.

The other thing about co-op is you can revive each other, which i have to do to colin quite alot

Well thats the single player done and dusted, it was a bit short I think I prefer COD4. I feel a bit like I just played COD2 with jazzy graphics and no Brits. looks like the Americans and Russians did it on their own again :(

Tank control is worse imho than COD2, Flamethrower is fun, kentucky fried nips

Multiplayer is ok, it's fun shooting dogs the little feckers but there are some glitches. I got the Arty strike tonight, then the dog's, it would not let me make my arty strike but released the dogs ........ 5 times LOL. There were juvenile shouts of hacker, cheat etc ....... but it's not my fault the thing decided I could have 5 packs of ravenous labrasationweillers, it was feckin hilarious though, like a plague of rats rampaging around

I still think of Cod5 as a bit of a mod to Cod4 rather than a whole new experience.

The only thing that will sway us to putting a server up when the linux binaries come out is the Co-op mode. TBH this is the only thing for me that marks this game as different. Forcing team play and tactics is exactly what Cod4 needed. Otherwise everbody just plays PAM / gaycore and it quickly becomes dull / too easy.

The game has some nice features as described before - the dogs , the flamethrowers etc. I think the tanks are bit of a waste of time though.

I think that as real gamers , not consoleists , that we were spoiled with cod4 as we had missed out on cod3 and now 5 doesnt seem like such a jump forward.

I only play on HC servers, it's all a bit ghey when you pump 20 round's into someone and they are still twitching ....... 1 x .303 to the centre of the visible mass is enough to ruin anyone's day (or .45, 9mm, 7.92mm and a 12.7/.50 cal would require the use of a bucket and sieve to get you home )

Hi I,ve just completed the solo game and like some on the site I thought is was a bit of a disapointment.

Saying that I like the multi player and I'm now looking forward to some new maps.

My online name is Ken1, not very original I know but I don't forget my own name lol.

None inparticular (yet) just go for ones with a decent number of people playing and a low ping
