Auto Locking doors when ignition is turned on or driver starts to drive

Featured Replies

Is there such a thing that can be activated on a Mk1 Octi Elegance

I had a TOAD thatcham1 approved alarm a few years ago that used to automatically lock the doors after the ignition had been turned on for 20secs.

Does anyone know if there is anything built into the Octavia as standard or do I need something extra?

I will also ask here, is there anything for an 06 Fabia vrs also?

Thanks

Hi matt... just replied to your other thread.

I have wired it up with the use of two relays in my felly. It works only when the ignition is on and when the handbrake is released the doors lock.

Don't know if its VAG-commable on the Octy but deffo think it is on the Fabia.

Phil

I think VAG.COM has a setting that can auto-lock the doors over 10mph and unlocks them when you pull the key out.

My 2004 L&K Octi Estate locks the door when you drive at over 10mph or so.

I also used to throw all the locks open dramatically when you pulled the key out of the ignition: for my purposes a pointless feature, which I had disabled by someone with the electronic gizmo.

Moved here in case anyone local to him, can help Matt out turning this on on a Mk1 octy and a Fabia VRS.

I'd be interested in how thats done, my bro-in-law's does that. Fezboy's old motor.

I've allready got vag-com just need to know how todo it.

Just found this, Does anyone know if it's the same Auto Lock for the Octi?

fabia is simple. look at the sticky in the fabia section or get your dealer to enable it. My dealer did mine when I got the car but since then I've done a few with vag-com.

I'm pretty sure it is I did mine and that looks familiar.

As always though I may be wrong :o

I don't know about the Fabia, but in the Octavia you're capable of making it lock after 20KM/H and unlock when you get the key off the switch.

Anyone in S Wales that can do this on a Fabia II? i do it myself with the console button, but would be nice to have them come on automatically like my GPS used too.

matt I can confirm that yes it can be turned on with the vagcom as I have done it on my octi (with remote central locking)

and yes it is the same as the furby

have a look in here at the word document to see some of the common setting that can be changed

hope that helps

Thanks all.

Anti Hijack enabled on mine and SWMBO's car. I've also enabled single door unlock on mine too.

How ACE is Vag-Com :) :) :)

Why doesn't SUK enable these as standard :( doesn't make sense.

Because lost of people moan about it.

They should read your tale, then decide if they still hate it enough to turn it off. Yes can be a pain, by both SWMBO and I love it.

Me and SWMBO both bought the same TOAD system because of where we lived and worked and wanted the added security, we never gave it a minutes thought when we didn't have it. Glad we've got it back now though

Just be careful with passengers trying to rip your door handles off because "the bloody door won't open"

They need to pull it twice now.

I usually hit the switch before they start yanking.

HTH

you want someone with vag com to enable "anti-hijack" takes a couple of clicks to enable.

You read the whole thread right ?????

If you did you would see that it's been done:)

it has indeed, much to amusement of child number2 watching the door lock popup moving on its own :)

sorry missed the one post, just confirming to the "if" and "may" be done posts.:rolleyes:

There is also options to leave all doors locked apart from drivers door and also so the doors only unlock after a drive when the keys are removed from ignition.
