Hi does anybody know of a good place to get Dell spare parts from? Im looking for a DVD/R CDR drive for an inspiron 5100. Dell themsleves are about as much use as a left handed shuffle!! (thats if your right handed!!)

thanks for replies.....its prob cos i have a dell machine!!.....but dont give a monkies really what make the spare is.....tried dell first as you used to be able to go on to their site and just buy it....now apperently they wont sell any spare parts at all!!

If you don't want to pull it apart get a USB DVD drive, also it might not be broken a bad O/S can render it inactive, I'd try a reformat before you pull it apart.

have just orderd a new one from upgrade options:)....tried the updated drivers online but it still wasnt right!!.....its a simple click and pull out and slide in new one:)....takes all of about ten seconds:)
