I replaced the power steering pump today on our 2001 Fabia 1.9 tdi comfort.

The original pump had a coding of 00110. The new one came with coding 10110 already installed.

After reading the coding info on de.openobd.org - skoda - fabia (6y) it is far from clear whether the coding should be 10110 or 00110, (our roomster also has a pump coding of 10110).

The first 1 apears to be for the "airbag", but software levels apear to be involved as well (is this the sofware level of the power steering controller?).

Has anyone any further information on how to identify the correct coding?

Everything appears to be working ok with 10110 in.

If its the same pump then I would use the coding your car had originally.

The new one is 6R0 423 156 which I understand is now supplied as the latest replacement for the Fabia.

Found several instances of the 6R0 pump coding on the site but all are on fairly new Ibiza's or Polo's.

All had 10110 or 10111 coding.

Please post a complete scan from the car in question, we need to know which ABS system is installed and such.

The pump on my 2007 Fabia vRS is 6Q0 423 156 AB. I have recoded it from 10120 to 10140 for heavier steering.
