About time I did this!

Featured Replies

After some time, I finally remembered to download and start Folding@Home.

Thanks for all the tips, took some reading, plenty more to be read here but I have the basics up and running.

Still have a second PC and a Laptop to download to.

Do I take it that I set them as Machine ID 2 and 3 under advanced but still keep the same login? Simple question I know but seeing that I am on early shifts this week and getting up at 04:stupid my brain is now ready to go into sleep mode:)

Welcome to the Fold ;)

Need all the help we can get atm.

The machine ID refers to the cpu/core you want that folding client to run on... If you have a dual core machine then you can setup 2 folding clients one on machine ID 1 the other on 2 enabling you to get through twice as much work. :)

Yes keep the same login name and team number on all your clients.

I have too decided to start this!

Installed it on my work pc (2.0ghz some sort of C2D) and had it running while on the desktop cytrix thing and not using it.

Also installed the GPU client on the PC but don't think I'll be using it much as when the pc is switched on its in use and often to play games. Shame though as the OC'd 8800GTX was crunching through rather quickly!

I've now completed 13 WU's!

Welcome to Folding Phil.

Daft question, but what is folding ?

I've seen this mentioned in several places lately and I've no idea what it is.
