Feli engine goin out of gas

Featured Replies

hi all

I few months ago I had an issue whit my feli carburetor. When it went to idle shuts off. After some advices here, I did a deep clean of the carburetor and changed all the rubber pipes. It is Fine now. But lately I find it doing something weird.

If it has much gasoline in the thank, some times (while running) the engine shuts off and when I check the gas filter placed in the pipe that comes from thank it's empty.

I suspect of the fuel pump, but talking to mi father last night, he thinks that the carburetor got (how do I say Drowned?: when it has too much fuel in the carb).

It make some sense to me, since it has some electric choke system and "maybe" it could automatically stop requiring gas from the pump.

what do you think about this?

From what you're saying, you sometimes find the fuel filter is dry, yes?

If so, then you must have a problem with the lift pump (if applicable) or fuel tank strainer. Are there any signs of paint or rust flakes in the fuel filter?

well I really find that the fuel filter is very clean.

I don´t think there is any rust :(

Ok, it doesn't seem to be rust or paint flakes in the tank then. I'd suspect the fuel pump of not pumping sometimes since you're reporting "out of fuel" symptoms.
