Hello from a prospective new driver

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've been driving Vauxhall company cars for the last 20 years & now it's time for a change & I have the choice of VAG group cars. The VW Passat looks nice but is too expensive when kitted out so I'm 90% convinced I'll be ordering a Skoda Octavia VRS diesel in january 2009. I have not decided whether to opt for the hatch (which I think looks better) or the estate which would be more practical for camping trips.

Welcome.

Both are very capable cars.

I went for the Octy hatch because it's still got excellent boot space and as you say, it does look better.

Welcome to the site :)

Hello and welcome. You'll still get your camping gear in the hatch I'm sure. I did on this years Briskoda camping trip.

Welcome

Had no trouble fitting camping gear into the boot of my vRS at the camping trip.

I'll have a look at the respective models in the show room in January, althouigh just my luck the new Octavia facelift will come out just as I get my paperwork through & I will have a cat & mouse game trying to delay the car until the new model is available. The boot on the hatch did look very large, I haven't compared specs but it does look bigger than the Vectra.

Can I ask a question "What is a maxidot?" , I suspect it's a upgraded trip computer display but has anyone got pics?

Click the link in my signature for the octavia site and then click OEM Bluetooth and you'll see some maxidot pics.
