Very tempted by the T-mobile G1

Yup! Loving mine!

I've got it rooted with a modified firmware which so far has allowed me to have my browser auto -rotate, move browser and market caches to the sd card, change the boot logos and enable tethering over wifi (similar to the prog for the N95 where your phones acts as a wifi router).

Loving it and really enjoy using it all the time.

I've been having a play with an ipod touch lately and if that is anything to go by... i much prefer it to an iPhone!!

The only thing in my opinion that lets it down is the battery life.

1 day of txting and maybe a couple of calls with some app installing etc and my battery is pooped by the end of the day... not that i'm too bothered as I just plug it in over night.

I'm sat on my laptop on me bus right now posting this through the G1's connection.

P.s. there is a G2 on its way but as far as I can tell has pretty much the same spec (same screen, same camera etc) but it doesn't have a keyboard but is also slimmer because of this,

I saw that, it's been shown to be a chinese fake rather than an official phone.

Yer really enjoying mine at the moment :) Battery is a bit poor as mentioned but I did read on another Forum that T-Mobile in the US are replacing the batteries!

I think the only thing I would really like is to have a virtual keyboard for quick emailing and browsing! I am using ChompSMS as it has a Virtual Keyboard like an iPhone for quick txt'ing :) Also id like maybe to be able to store apps on the sd card..

You can if you have root...

Havn't tried it yet as you need to partition your sd card with an ext2 partition so the android system can use it as app storage.

Think it is coming in a future update along with on screen keyboard etc.

One thing that bugs me is the lack of MSN IM in the uk firmware.

Yer me too, ive used a few of the apps from the Market Place but not really found anything that works well.

Have you tried AndNav or AndNav2?

If you want to see the G2 go here and there are a whole load of HTC phones that have been leaked including the new G2 probably, it's rather pink!
