inside light above rear view mirror not working

Featured Replies

Hi,

My aunt has a Skoda Fabia and has asked me to help (recent mechanic and breakdown company been useless) with the following:

The inside light above the rear view mirror is not working. I don't know if the bulb(s) have gone or if a fuse for them may have gone.

Do you know how to replace the bulbs and/or find out where the fuse is for these lights? I am a novice but with some simple guidance could replace this myself. My aunt needs the light as the area where the car is parked is quite dark.

Thanks in advance

Hmmm - I am in the same boat. For some reason my white fabia came with the roof light with no "nav lights" on the side (which wasn't working), so I got one to fit, and it's also not working. Suspecting a fuse now myself, but don't have a manual to hand to see which fuse it could be. :)

The switch has three positions, on, off, on when door opens. Carefully prise the lens off to access the bulb. The fuses are in a panel at the end of the dash, access available when the drivers door is open. The fuses are listed in the handbook.

The fuses are listed in the handbook.

Yup - I cannot be ar5ed to go out to my car in this freezing weather and retrieve said handbook. :D

I thought it might be something like that but didn't want to ruin her car. I assume taking a flat-head screwdriver to the panel should do the job, and prize it open. I understand there is only one bulb in there to replace is that correct?

Thats for the heads up on where the fuse box is.

I had a problem like this, the switch had come loose from the connection. I used a carefully placed screw to keep the main light on doors open.

One festoon bulb and that should also be listed in the handbook. I think the lens can be prised from the front if it is the same as the octavia.

Mine has a middle festoon bulb and 2 5w sidelight type fitment bulbs as "nav lights" on each side. I have a festoon bulb in now which is not working on either direction fitted, so I will be checking the fuses at lunch.

Just been out and fuse no.4 for interior lighting is fine, so it's not the fuse. I wonder if there is some other fuse for the interior lights as the one in the boot isn't working either. The handbook didn't seem to suggest some other fuse might be to blame. Have tried using an apparently intact festoon bulb (in both ways) and a sidelight bulb I had lying around. Dead. :thumbdwn:

I have a Y plate Fabia which I've had about 3 months now, all the interior lights worked when i first got the car then recently they've all gone... checked the fuse its fine... is this a common fault with the fabias?
