Got first choice of octy parts from scrape (what do i need)

Featured Replies

My mate who works at a scrap yard has just taken in an 98 octavia and he has give me first choice on any bits which i can get tomorrow (tuesday)

I have the usual doors unlocking themselves and and windows going down, am i right in thinking that i need the following.

Conveinance Unit

Drivers Door Control Switches

Drivers Door Wiring Loom

Or is there anything else i need to take off, I have the opportunity to sort this out once andd for all and just need some pointers as what i should be taking off the scraped octy.

The only difference is that the one that is scrap is a diesle and mine is petrol but both cars have 4 electric windows, so should the dona parts be ok?

Thanks for any help on this

Forgot to mention do i have to cut the drivers door wiring out or is there a connection terminal somehwere.

I know the wiring disconects from the white plug in the control unit but dont know where this connects at the other end, as it looks like it runs through the drivers door jam.

Thanks again.

Connections are at the base of the A post, remove the panel around the bonnet release lever and you should be able to get the loom intact.

Get all the door control units and the window regulators. The conveniece unit and door control units may not be interchangeable with yours, try and check the part numbers first.

Thanks for this, I hope the parts will be ok for mine the only difference is mine is peterol and the one from the scrap yard is a diesle but the electrics seem to be the same in terms of they both have 4 electric windows, electric sunroof etc.

Didnt realise that they made different control units for the locking/windows but will double check.
