CHIPSAWAY - Has anybody used them...

Featured Replies

Ahoy,

I see "Chipsaway" have had a couple of mentions over the past few weeks and having just checked out their web-site...

Has anybody used them and what was the end result - good, bad, value for money or what...

They look like a franchise operation, so if anybody has used my local agent (Basingstoke - so I guess North Hants) please "chip in".

A friend of mine used them on his white Citroen Saxo. I saw the "before and after" results, and I was most impressed, which is why I've got them coming to quote tomorrow morning.

Price is a different matter. I'll let you know what the wallet damage is when I know...

I've got them coming to check out a panel dent on Saturday, if they reckon they

can do it I'll try and dig out my camera and do some Before and After pics.

Although having a naff camera, silver car and mild dent, I don't know how visible

the difference will be! ;)

It would be very interesting if you guys could keep us advised of the progress/end result/cost, etc...

As mentioned earlier, I've checked out the web-site and spoken to their local guy and they can certainly "talk the talk". So it would be interesting to know if they can deliver.

Anybody else tried them out...

John - Chipsaway were recommended by another member of our group, MonkeyHanger in this thread. The thread also details the before and after pictures that he got which, considering it is silver, looks a very good job indeed :D .

Oops...i took those pics down, i thought they'd outlived their usefulness

Give me an hour or 2 and i'll put them back up, i have to get the Main PC up and running again first. (Thank god for the laptop)

As for Chipsaway, i'd recommend them to anyone, a first class service :D

Here's the pics :D

Before :(

And After :D

Ahoj,

Pics would be cool - even though the picture link was dead, it was interesting to read your comments.

Talk about a small world - I spied a "Ka" sporting a "chipsaway" livery this afternoon (Logo, web address, phone) pull into a road behind were I live. Ill have to keep an eye out see if they live my way or were working.

Sorry to be a pain - but if you do re-post your pics...

Many Thanks.

That looks like a mighty fine job they've done there...

Ahoj indeed !

Check the attachments in the 2 posts prior to yours John, i posted them on the site instead of my notoriously unreliable Ntl webspace :)

EDIT

I see you spotted them lol

The cost for that was

Excellent result, glad you are sorted, thanks for sharing the info, end result looks great in the photos.

He came this morning to have a look at my dent - unfortunately

it's going to need to go a bodyshop.

He said he could've pushed it out without it showing if there

was no creases in the metalwork. Unfortunately, the top

part of the dent (where the bumper scraped across it)

has a crease which would still show even if the rest didn't.

So I've been advised to go to a bodyshop...

Nice chap though, very professional.

Sorry to hear the news - well hope it all gets sorted for you soon.

Everything I hear about "Chipsaway" is positive, so I think I'll be giving them a call myself in the near-ish future.

Many thanks for the note anyway.
