**I hate Kittens** so am going to ask about Furby tyres!

Featured Replies

Due to this place i'm likely to end up with a set of 17" spiders next week (sorry siblings but no xmas pressies for you!) and will need to rubber them up (ooh-eer missus!)

Previous purchases have come through blackcircles.com and were Kuhmo Ecsta KU31 16" on my Seat Ibiza TDi

They seemed really good value but seemed to have quite a short life and the rear treadblocks wore like a saw blade (but this could be dodgy rear suspension as the fronts were fine )

Sticking the new wheel size (205/40/17) into blackcircles it gives me the following "mid-range" options

Kumho KU31

Falken Ziex ZE0912

Toyo Proxes PX4

Falken FK-452

and one of their recommended tyres is Yokohama PARADA SPEC2

all are between £60 and £70 a corner which is my acceptable budget (although i might request cash for christmas and get P Zero Neros @ £80)

Could do with some help before taking the (not inconsiderable) plunge!

anyone out there with experience of any of the above and advice/opinions to offer

and of course if any one wants to post any pics of their kitten hats/ash trays/etc feel free!!:D

I've got the Toyo's they are good, but noisy and don't last very long!

I'm considering Falkens next or I've been told Maxxis are meant be really good for a budget/intermediate tyre?

different car I know, but I've got Yokohama PARADA SPEC2's on my Focus (215/40/17) and I'm really liking them.

:)

thanx polo however it would seem that blackcircles delivered prices are cheaper than your trade mytyres prices?

might be worth a bit of haggling....

From your selection I'd suggest the Falken 452s for good/excellent all-round performance or the Parada Spec 2 for being outstanding in the dry but at the expense of wet grip.

****!

Oh dear....

Kumho KU31's are the future.

Uniroyal Rainsports FTW

My advice is to find a little cheap, backstreet tyre fitter and ask him to order your tyres for you.

Here in Birkenhead, I've got a fella who gets me my Pirelli P-Zero Neros at £70 per corner fitted, valves, and balanced. At Kwik Fit up the road, they were £135 each. Go figure.

i have parada spec2 205/40 17's on my fabia and they look awsome and handle great, but they are really soft so cant see them lasting long. khumos have good grip and good life efficency, it really depends on what your after
