Fabia 2 door seals

Featured Replies

Bought my Fabia 2 1.2 HTP 70 Reg 2007 in October this year. All the door seals stay wet after rain and rain water sits on top of the door facia and I have to wipe the door facia down before driving off as it spashes onto the seat. The dealer says all the cars are the same!! ?? Does not seem right to me - why drive a car that lets the rain in. Anyone out there had the same problem?

Yup. Seems fairly common for sure.

Same for me. They actually replaced the seal at the top of the drivers door on mine in October when I moaned about getting dripped on.

I thought they had cured it as I didn't seem to get any drips after.

However, I got a few drips on my arm again this morning in the rain. Must have not rained as much as I thought in the last 2 months!

Annoying that Skoda messed up this design along with the rear window seals that make high pitched noises when the windows are open! You would have thought it would be something they couldn't get too wrong - after all, they have been fitting window seals and door seals to cars for a while...

The seal on mine could possibly be leaking somewhere as nearly every time I get in the car the front window steams up.

I am not sure if manufacturers are no longer bothered about faulty seals as people use their air- con to "dry" the car out.

My rear screen is almost certainly steamed up after a "mild" evening. Definately if it's cold. And I hate how you get a line down the middle of your rear screen where washer fluid drips. Rubbish rear screen area!!!

Mine too! I left my door open for a minute of so in fairly heavy rain the other day, and upon closing the door I trapped a lot of wetness between door and seal which eventually worked it's way into the interior of the car. Just two droplets. But this is normal for most modern cars I assure you. After a rain storm and I open a door it's usual to get one or two drops of water fall into the car. All the Fords and Fiats I have owned do it also. No really a problem though in my opinion.

The driver side seal leaked on my fabia II purchased 8 weeks ago. On investigation I noticed the body mounted door seal on the leading edge of the drivers door left a minute gap where it met the seal at the top of the door. I loosened the 3 star nuts on the seal which is on the inside of the A pillar (this has room for small adjustments). I made small adjustments to this seal until the very small gap where the seals meet appeared closed. The outer and inner door seals appear to work in conjunction with each other. When moving at speed water was being forced into this tiny hole and filling up between the inner and outer seal and subsequently dripping through the inner door seal. This has stopped most of the water ingress between the seals. The dealer I took it to also confirmed I had performed exactly what they would have done. The only time the door appears to drip a little is in heavy rain when opening. Apart from that the situaton is much improved but still not perfect.

Sealing and water leaks are fairly common on the Fabia 1. My car had to go back several times to get this rectified under warranty. I would have thought Skoda would have rectified this with the Mark 2.
