super pro wishbone bushes

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyoone fitted these before?. are they a diy job or should they be left for the pro's to do

I have them on the front of my vRS, as do several others.

They definitely improve handling and feel but my ARB bushes creak

I got them fitted by a pro as I didn't fancy the task of removing the old ones.

Id got them too, Had a go myself and got as far as removing 1 isde then put it back on and went to the mech. I got SuperPRO ARB bushes (19mm) and front wishbone bushes. they are great, done bout 4K miles so far and all good(touches head and says "touch Wood")

If I was you I get them done properly, will prob cost a bit but if anything goes wrong its not your fault.

Have fun

billy

The wishbone bushes are easy enough to do.

The ARB bushes can be a bit more difficult, but can be replaced without dropping the subframe. If the bar is damaged, then it will have to come down.

Yep i have these too, back and front wishbone bushes, had them fitted by a garage, better steering feel etc.

how easy are they to do? i have already done the arb bushes. didn't have much of a problem fitting those.

just wondering if you need a press to push the old ones out and push the new ones in ?

I used a press, but you could used a vice, a piece of wood with a hole in it and a disc to push the bush home. Others have used more brute force methods.

Some have replaced the whole wishbone when the bushes were shot, so they didn't have this 'problem'. Of course, they still have OE bushes.

The ARB ones are p155 to do. All you need to do is jack both sides up at the front and take the wheels off and ther brackets are right there.

I had mine done about 14 months ago. I took the wishbones off myself and took them in to a small local independent.

He pressed the old ones out and the new in, took about 15 mins (I had given him a ring first to say I was on my way) and charged me £10 "for cash"

lol wow thats good

cost me £200

£365 total to:

do the wishbone bushes

fit rear shocks

New CV joint on Pass side.

full geometry check and adjust. plus they straitened up the steering for me.

Well, it was "mates rates", for 15 mins time, no parts, no tax etc.

Actually it also cost me a breakfast bacon & egg sarnie each from the wagon round the corner.

And a couple of fags afterwards.
