After investigating an ABS fault on me octy, found the front nearside abs wiring had been bodged!!! :thumbdwn:. Usual thing as the plastic waterproof plug was damaged beyond repair. Got a new wiring kit form Skoda, it looked very nice but for the 4 bare wires i have got to solder into the cars loom :eek:. Has anyone done these before and did they have any major dramas? :confused:

Soldering is dead easy if you know how- tricky until you have learned.

Get hold of some adhesive heatshrink tubing as well (Maplin is a good source) to cover the join with.

Yer gonna get some from work and ask the electrcian to sort it.... My main concern was how easy is it to break into the abs loom under the bonnet obviously where i need to cut and solder the new wires.

I'd leave as much of the original loom as possible- do it nearer the wheel. The adhesive heatshrink will protect the joint. Just make sure it's all well cable tied to support it, as vibration will otherwise eventually fracture the wire at the join.
