On my 05 Octavia Elegance, inside the jumbo box there is a little thing that slides up and down. The top end of this thing has a ring shaped handle.

What is it?

By pulling it up the air conduict opens and it blows either warm or cold air inside the Jumbo box. This depends on the AC setting. It's not the same as glovebox cooling.

Never really used it so I can't say if it's useful or not

Isnt it? Surely they both have flaps to allow the passing through of the air conditioning air to ensure the contents are kept at the same temperature?

Ive used it a few times - wouldnt describe it as a jumbo box myself but it works for what you can fit in there.

the glove box is always cooled, the jumbo box i think is as the front heaters temp. i have tested with heating on and the glove box is always cooled.

Good to know, thanks, I just presumed it was like the jumbo box and passed through the temperature of the air circulating the cabin.

The Jumbo is heated or cooled, the glovebox is just cooled. Realised this last winter, when it melted my chocolate inside there.
