I have a red 2006 Octy VRS and am thinking the front looks a wee bit bland.

I'm not quite convinced the chrome grille surround lends itself very well to the car and think it might look better colour coded.

Have any of you guys done this or do you know if there are any images of any red ones that have been done.

If I'm getting it doen I'll have it done by a pro as I don't want to make a pigs ear of it...lol

Anything else that would lift the look of the front end let me know too......thanks

My Octavia is Black, colour coding is THE thing to do to make the car look sporty...

shameless plug for vrs-stu's website Coloured Grille | Octavia-VRS.com shows you how to do it. basically you want to etch off all the chrome, primer it and then spray it the colour you want plus laquer it afterwards.

I'm thinking about going the opposite way - matt black grille surround on a yellow Octy (to make the grill look bigger).

ill 2nd that, keen to see one in race blue, itlks the mutts nuts in the other colours, but i think possible it could look a little tacky in race blue, same with the head light brows

gonna have to get mine done. Ive got my island green grille as I put my L&K back to standard before I traded it in. Will just have to find someone local to colour match it for me to blue. Im not looking forward to removing the stuck on badge though :(

just thought id update this thread as I coded mine the other week plus the lower grilles after Mater did his.

That looks goooooood ; particularly with the outer lower grilles (but not the centre section) done a well.

Might have to do that myself.

cheers bahnstormer. I think that coding the side grilles gives much more purpose to the centre grille as it flows up and matches the top grille. credit goes to Mater who posted it int he styling section. i need to get some better pics when its not covered in salt!

Looks good Sworrall. I'm thinking of fitting a main grille from the facelifted verison. The fewer bars will match the fewer bars in the lower grille (it's always seemed odd to me that the upper and lower grilles have a significantly different number of bars). Has anyone worked out of it's a straight swap?
