Asap - torque settings for engine mount / timing belt pulleys

Featured Replies

my vRS is having the timing belt / water pump done tomorrow

does anyone know the torque settings for the engine mount which needs removing, ive bought replacement bolts as ive been advised on here they are stretch bolts

and do the tensioners/pulleys have torque settings ?

You will need a Haynes manual or the Skoda Workshop manual. Most fittings are torqued then angle tightened. Just about everything has a torque setting on these cars.

For the ASZ engine, I can find the following:

Camshaft sprocket / gear: 100Nm for the central bolt and 25Nm for the three bolts surrounding it.

Can't find anything on the engine mount, though, or the tensioner - would need my Haynes to confirm...

seems most things are in the Haynes :)

The "engine assembly bracket" which looks to be the one on the cambelt side says

"20 Nm + 1/4 turn" on the 4 bolts which secure the mount to the chassis

"30 Nm + 1/4 turn" for the 3 bolts which secures the engine to the mount (3 in a row on top)

I assume you don't need the torque settings for the gearbox mount, or the lower gearbox mount? :)
