Blackberry Storm....?

Featured Replies

oh the voice dialling was excellent and worked everytime until it stopped working and hasn't worked since :(

trying a battery pull as apparently this sorts it out.

what version you on? i think i'm on 4.7.

i am on 4.7.0.78 which is the newest that i can down load according to Blackberry desktop manager

yeah, same here.

just get the phone as you get 14 days cool off anyway

The 14 day period is NOT a cooling off period and your not always entitled to it. All your doing by "test driving" products in this way is pushing the prices up :thumbdwn:

If your not sure, go to retailer who will sell you what you need rather than what you think you want.

Welcome to the world of Blackberry :D

Well i went and got one today, i'm now on Vodafine. Have to say there isn't as much signal around as i used to have on my orange phone!

Other than that the phone is very nice, just got all 4 of my e-mail accounts setup on it and working. We'll see how it goes!

I've checked and it's running the latest firmware, runs very well too :D

Pound for pound the Blackberry has a slightly weaker reception than my Voda N95 8GB but I have heard whispers on t'net that this could be improved over the next few updates.

I would think they will have most things sorted in the next few months. It'll be nice once we can all download some some nice apps for it too. That 8GB card is begging to be filled up with rubbish.

GSM and CDMA mobiles all conform to the same spec in terms of the RF. They have to, it's all laid out to be specific otherwise they will cause big problems on the network.

The meter thats on the phone could mean anything, it's only an indicator of approximate signal strength based on the RAACH burst from the handset. Generally they all perform the same when used in the air interface, they do when tested anyhow.

Some signal strength bars measure finer amounts, or cover differing ranges so arent a true indication when comparing 2 differing models or makes.

Some handsets have a secret signal test area which will show you the true levels. Used to know the S40 Nokia one, but not had an S40 for 6 years now.

the storm will just tell you the signal strength in the menu :)

Have to say i'm loving this thing so far, it's awesome :D

i wouldn't go that far, i still get on better with my N95 but i'm getting more and more used to it.

I'll wait for Vodafone to butcher it to death then i'll download it to mine

If anyone is interested there is now a leaked version of the new OS to upgrade v4.7.0.83

See here if you want any more info - CrackBerry.com ? The #1 Site for BlackBerry Users & Abusers

Please be careful with this.

It will void your warranty and RIM will just wash their hands with any fault you may have in the future.
