Im taking my Octavia II to france and spain in the new year. Does anyone know how I convert my headlamps for continental driving? I dont have xenons, I tried emailing skoda and got no sense out of them. Anyone got ant ideas?

The headlight units are adjustable using an internal lever, as shown elsewhere on the forum.

Alternatively, you can use the stick-on circular beam benders, that you can buy on the ferry and various other places. They claim to be effective on the Octavia's projector beams. I used them in France and found them pretty useless - partly because there is no reference on the lens to fit them against. The instructions also have different fitting positions for the standard Octavia, Scout and VRS despite the headlamps being identical. However, it shows willing to the gendarmerie and they some off OK with the help of some meths.

be warned, stick on beam benders on plastic lenses will cause hot spots and melt the lens ,have seen it many a time,

Did the recommended adjustment using the internal flap for tomorrows booze cruise. Took 5 mins but have done it before:). Suggest you lay out a towel or blanket to avoid scratching the lens. Also suggest using a plastic friendly lubricant on the holding/locking mechanism that the headlamp unit sits on to make removal easier next time.
