Few pics of my new gauges and engine bay

Featured Replies

Thought id post up some pics of my new Stack gauges.

I originally had a single SPA digital gauge in the r/h vent but I could hardly see

the display because of the angle so I went for 2 analogue ones instead. The oil temp is electric and the boost is mechanical for those wondering.

Also, as i've finished in the engine bay (for now:D) i took a few pics of that too.

Looks good.

Kind of engine spec you running?

The integration of the dials does look particularly good. How did you get the texture of the surround to match the dash?

In 'real life' it does look very similar to the rest of the dash but my

camera skills are awful to be honest.

I'll go and see what paint it was I used.

I used plasti-kote Velvet touch then sprayed it matt black. Its very easy to apply.

I did want to cover in Alcantara but I couldnt find any so resorted to that from B&Q.

Looks a really nice job

I dare you to go into your local dealer and complain that your air con doesnt seem to be functioning very well :)

Looks good, much better than the gauges just plopped ontop.

Thanks for the positive comments:thumbup:

I decided to put them in the heater vents as I only ever use the demist/footwell setting

I cant believe how long it takes for the oil to warm up though, about 15 minutes:eek:

looks really tidy ..... good job :thumbup::thumbup:

Looks very nice indeed

Nice job mate.

I have gauges in the centre vent on my octy, but yours looks a better finish:thumbup:

Just wondering what did you use to mount the gauges in, was it plastic sheet cut to suit or some other material.

Damn you all. . . . you keep giving me all these ideas. . . guess what ill be trying this weekend, lol.

Braw job though, looks great, and im the same, only use the footwell and window setting so seems like a good idea.

Its a blend of fibreglass, filler and some carbon sheet I found:cool:

I didn't plan on painting it, thats why the finish aint perfect as the alcantara I wanted to use

would of covered up the imperfections nicely.
