I bought a 1.8 Volvo V40 a couple of months ago to replace my company car and it is soooooo slow. I bought my wife a Leon Cupra 180 and both of us love it but with a baby the family car needs to be a bit bigger.

The Octavia Vrs seems to fit the bill perfectly and is more or less the same as the Leon under the skin I believe?

Anything I should look out for over and above MK4 based foibles?

Welcome Guy. I drive a 180 vrs and my brother has a Cupra 180. The performance is nearly identicle. The seat is 6 speed and slighjtly lower geared than the 5 speed vrs but its barely noticible. The Skoda however is much softer and more of a cruiser. Its really comfy and still quick and nimble. Interior has more room to with a smaller dash, but the skoda is not as easy in tighter spaces with the larger boot. Hope this helps.
