Featured Replies

My VRS is now due for it first service (since buying it) its got 40000 mils on it all servicing was done at autohaus in northampton. As im nowhere near that im taking it to my mate in the trade and was wondering what oil (as he just has a generic oil that they use 10/50 i think) and what brands people are using in their VRS'

cheers Michael

The oil must be 505.01 spec.

Millers do one.

Halfords do one.

Have you perchance, tried the search facility ?

YOU MUST USE 505.01 SPEC

Using non PD oil will seriously wear at the engine as it's specifically designed to cope with the higher pressures that are created by the cam pushing the injector down etc etc.

Your local dealer will do it (obviously) £15 per litre, so probably the dearest

I would think Halfrauds

I think Millers do one

Opie oils may as well.

It's something like 5W30, but not overly sure about that.

does nobody use the newer Longlife III stuff ?

Whatever make you use you must make sure the oil is PD oil. If you put normal oil in it will do long term damage. I use Castrol txt 505 01.

Regards Chris

VW dealers sell 505.1 cheaper than Halfords, of course try SEAT & Skoda dealers too.
