My 2005 Octavia L&K has developed an annoying "ding" when cornering. The noise sounds like a bicycle bell - probably the one that gives a "seat belt not fastened" warning.

Does anyone know where it is located, please, and whether it is a common problem?

Are you getting a warning light at the same time? You get a "bong" for other warnings so maybe yours is for the power steering?

Do you only get this if you have a passenger? If so, the switch in the seat that detects the passenger may be faulty.

could be because the ice warning has popped up, no seat belt, low washers, low fuel, basically anything that lights up a warning on the dash pod.
