Washer and Fuel warning beeps/screams!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Long time lerker and leacher of info :P I have an 04 VRS and a licensed VAG-COM i have been trying to find information on removing the beeps from the warning lights (I still want the lights to come on just not scream at me cos there is a low washer level) or is it possible to change the 'tone' of the beep so that it doesn't pop my ear drums on turning the car on or scare the hell out of me on the 80 mile round trip to work in the middle of winter as i'm constantly using the washers on the motorway. help wold be appreciated (especially as over time you have all helped me without realising ;)

Loco

dont think you can change the beep certainly dont think you can knock it off completely, but i might be wrong.

Fit a larger washer bottle.............

I think you can disable the warning completely but not thinking this is the best solution.

You can connect a resistor across level probes (you will lose the warning) and you can get a much larger washer bottle.

Interesting... is this an option or do you fit one from a octy?

Get a 5 litre one used on cars with headlight washers. A quick search will pull up the guide.

Octavia or Fabia?

This still doesn't make it clear what car you have, i could assume it was a Fabia, but surely if you are asking for advise then it is better to state what car it is for.

Being a newbie you could drive anything, filling your profile out a little would help matters as well.

If you can't be bothered to put the effort in then why should anyone else??

Briskoda is a wonderful place for info, but our crystal balls sometime get a bit foggy, so the clearer you make your questions the better.

BTW i find the best way of keeping the beeps from going off is to keep the fluids topped up and don't in the least find them annoying when they remind me.

Gee thanks for the sarcastic flaming... you may have noticed that i put an egg on my face emote for not being clear about it, you could assume it was a fabia as skoda only make a furby and an octy in VRS format and I asked if you fit one from an octy?? ,you may also notice that I stated I do an 80 mile round trip to work as as there is no skoda dealer near me getting replacement washer fluid is difficult as you're not supposed to use generic stuff unless you want your hoses to pop off..and by the time i get home from work all the dealers are shut (do you keep a stock of washer fluid in your boot?) . I'm assuming you refer to me as a newbie because i haven't spent the last six months posting ? I have been here for a while and until now haven't felt the need to post as I was getting all the help I needed.. as I had a question I couldn't find an answer to I thought I'd start interacting as everyone seemed to be friendly, perhaps in future you may want to consider a friendly PM to say be more clear , rather than the sarcastic attempt to be-little me... bad day at work was it?
