Ipod Video Vs Classic Video Out?

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm if the ipod classic 120GB or 160GB will work with video out on the denison gateways? (or any other ipod HU integration for that matter, in case anyone else wanted to know)

It seems that apple haved changed the video out parameters on the classic so that you have to buy an apple adapter (made exclusively by apple and a small number of 3rd party companies) to get video out. Apparently all the old docks, jacks, cables etc will not work anymore. The only thing it seems a bit vague as to whether its just the video out affected on the 3.5mm jack or the ipod connector or both.

There are lots of people complaining about this, but Id like to know for definate.

Can anyone confirm this?

Seems pointless to get a classic 160 if it doesnt do it :(, It only seems to be up to Ipod video 5.5

Don't know about video, but audio out isn't affected. My classic is connected to my Kenwood HU with no problems.

The audio still works, apparently its just the video out, its either a black screen or it says 'please connect accessory' or similar.

Well, straight from the horses (Denisons) mouth.

'No, unfortunately not, iPods released after September 2007 (Classic, Touch, iPhone, Nano 3/4G) are not supported by our current models, since they need a new apple chip to be implemented in the Gateways to be able to read the video outpout.

If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

We would be happy, if you would give us a feedback, even if your problem is solved!
