Whats the big deal on brakes???

Featured Replies

Just out of interest where does everyone get their TT brakes from? Did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Probably going to be replacing discs and pads next year so it might be worth me spending the extra money and swapping to 312's...

I got mine from the ttshop in bedford £150 for calipers and carriers

I wasnt all fussed by big brakes until i drove one with 312`s, jesus, there amazing. For the small extra over replacing std discs id say its well worth it.

I wonder whos that was :)

Bloody saved my *** yesterday. Long story short being a bit careless and almost went into the back of a tractor - 312mm saved me.

No-one's mention the other benefit of uprated brakes - literally scaring the Sh** out of the front passenger - first you accelerate hard then brake hard.

Cures constipation a treat...

Oh you were constipated at the Leather Bottle pub meet a couple of years ago? Sorry, you should have mentioned. I would have been a little more gentle  :P

Seriously though, having had a standard car with 288 then get 312, it was more of a feel than anything else. I could directly relate the amount of pressure on the pedal to the amount of braking I was getting. It felt far more controlled than the OEM setup.

My car now has brembo 4 pots with 323mm discs. To be honest, I don't find them an "amazing" step up from 312mm. TBH, I found the 288 => 312 upgrade more noticeable than 323 4 pots. Having said that, you get used to it incredibly quickly, and in these greasy months, it's the grip on the road that is the limiting factor when driving enthusiastically ;)

I wonder whos that was :)

u still got the brown stains as proof aint ya?
