Cor blimey I'm rather cheezed off

Featured Replies

I've been keeping my eye on a really nice Boomer E36. Basically, I contacted the seller, scraped through my savings and got enough money to buy it and now I discovered it's already been sold. MOTHERF*****! I'm going to murder someone...That car was the most perfect for me: eco enough but had also some ponies under it's bonnet. Meh...I'll need a pint to drown my sorrow!

Erm, ok....

And you would hold on to your car for somebody saving up when somebody else offered you the money right now?

if a gents agreement had been made, yes i would, been here recently myself.

Subtle... ;)

It's all well and good saying in when the boot's on the other foot...

It's how things work, if you've got the cash pay for it then and there or leave a deposit, else someone else will get in who does have the money there :)

I had this once when buying a Ford Capri. We agreed on the price, I offered a deposit and he said that it wasn't necessary as we had shaken on the deal. A day before I was to pick the car up he phoned up saying that someone had offered him more money and sold it there and then.

At the time I was quite miffed as the insurance had been sorted and other arrangements made - i.e. selling my other car - but what could I do?

I did swear a bit, but didn't threaten to murder anyone:rolleyes:. However, I can appreciate Mr Brutality's sentiments as a fellow petrolhead. Once you have set your mind/heart on a certain car and imagined yourself driving it, the fact you don't get it is a bit of a bitter pill to take. There's more cars out there, don't worry....
