hole in washer jet tank

Featured Replies

i think i have got a hole in my washer jet tank and was just wondering if it is an awkward job to fix or not? it also wont pump water to the rear windscreen.

thanks for any help

I wouldn't imagine that it would be a hard job to replace the washer bottle. Alternatively if its on a flat bit of the plastic you could drill a small hole and plug it with a grommet. If i was you though i would replace it.

Its even possible to replace it with a 5ltr bottle, there is a guide on here somewhere.

As for the water not getting to the rear washer, do a visual check of the connectors that join the pipe running from the washer bottle to the rear wiper motor. These tend to seperate when its cold (possibly due to not a strong enough concentration of screenwash) and will require popping back on and securing.

It's theoretically very easy, but I'm almost 100% certain you need to remove the front bumper, which isn't quite so easy.

This is well worth doing as the standard 2l bottle is pathetically small, especially if you're not using the official washer additive. The 5l bottle comes from the Xenon equipped cars and it's a proper upgrade.

it will just be the pipe came apart at the washer pump. Mines the same. if you get someone to hold the rear wash wipe on you will see the fliud pouring out the bottom of the bumper.
