I've just bought a mk2 skoda octavia elegance, but the indicators don't cancel themselves after making a turning. Could this be something to do with the steering wheel position? The indicators were cancelling themselves, but then I moved the steering wheel and it doesn't cancel itself anymore.

I've just picked the car up today, and two people have driven it and played around with the steering wheel adjustment. So not sure if this is related to the problem?

Anyone had this happen before? Whats the default steering wheel position? (all the way in, and up?)

I would have thought its a problem with either the indicator stalk or the slip ring.

There is no default position in terms of reach and rake, just set it to where you are comfortable.

Odd, seems to be working now. Hmmm... it's going in for a service so will tell them about it.

Do you relise that the indicators have a 3 flash mode. ie if you indecate right with a nudge they will flash 3 times, also it you then "turn them off" they will indecate left for 3 flashes.

Yeah I find that useful for changing lanes when it isn't busy, or exiting a roundabout, but wouldn't rely on 3 flashes for every situation.
