Rear Brakes

Featured Replies

Having looked @ mine, I'd say yours looks odd.

I've got a maybe 2-3mm ridge around the outside of the disk. The rest of the face of the disk is swept/worn/cleaned by the pad.

My disks are 70% worn and the car's done 47K.

1 year on and it seems the Bosch pads were not worn away on the edges by the old discs, as my discs are still the same now

well today i had new genuine pads and discs fitted along with my service at Alex Lawrie

the pads are making FULL contact with the discs, im blaming the none gen rear pads that the previous owner had fitted, not being 100% correct for the Fabia

Brun, how much were the pads? Mine will need replacing after Christmas along with the discs . Thinking about oem this time instead of ds2500's.

IIRC they were around £35 ? but being in the trade i got them for about £25 ?

cheap for genuine pads, ours at work (Renault) are around £50+ including VAT

FWIW, all three sets of rear discs have had 2-3mm around the edge where the pads didn't contact. I have used OEM and aftermarket parts over the years. The fronts (288 OEM and aftermarket, and 312mm effectively OEM) have had a much smaller lip - say 0.5mm...
