blue fin remap TDI PD 140 and clutch issues

Featured Replies

heard reports that after a blue fin remap that some owner have found clutch wear much increased... any body have similair experience or the downside of such a remap

considering the remap for a octy scout 140pd

thks n merry christmas to all

Any increase in power/torque will wear the clutch out quicker unless the clutch is uprated. But the rate of wear is very dependent on driving style. If you like to drop the clutch and roar away from lights or floor it at low rpm then you will be saying bye bye clutch much sooner than someone who has a sense of mechanical sympathy. If you kind to your car the clutch should last ages.

TBH I would not be too worried about premature clutch failure with a Superchips Bluefin map. I have Revo stage 1 on my Octy VRs and Bluefin on my Leon FR (both TFSI engines) and quite frankly the Revo is extremely aggressive in comparison to the Bluefin and so far no mechanical issues from either machine..........in fact, both get used with equal enthusiasm........

Hi Superted,

I'd really appreciate some feedback on the difference between the bluefin and revo map. I had the 5 hr trial last week and it was incredible. I've been looking at the bluefin which is £180 cheaper in the jan 20% off sale but im wondering is the revo worth the extra.

I'd love a really detailed comparison if possible as you could be very key in my decision making process :D

Many thanks

Ryan
