Featured Replies

hi all just bought myself a 1.3 pickup but iam having problems with it it struggles to start the guy i bought it from has checked all fuel lines and pumps and said he was told it needed a new ignition barrel as it wasnt allowing fuel through or something. is this possible? dont no much about it but any help would be great thanks and merry Christmas :)

well, I think that the engine will be coded to the ignition. at least the diesel one is.

is this an original engine? you may have to bypass the fuel cutoff.

I don't really know but hey :)

From what I have read if the immobiliser stops the car running, generally the car starts fine then stops after a few seconds. Needing a new ignition barrel as not allowing fuel through seems like nonsense though. I fuel isn't getting through I would start by looking at the fuel pump relay and fuse.

yea i agree, thats not really the first thing to change when truck wont start.

well i know my immobiliser is bypassed on my truck cos i changed the engine out, but mine is diesel which would be totally different from your 1.3. a diesel obviously has to stop fuel to the engine wheras i imagine on your petrol the imobiliser would stop the plugs from sparking?? i'd just do a few simple checks around the vehicle, ie clean/replace plugs, check fuel filter, clean/replace air filter etc.

I just bought a 1.3 pickup off a bloke who's had it in his garden for a good few years, its pretty rotton on the back arches, but i'll take off some bits to put my truck right. I was going to weld it up and try and make a truck up over time. but if you want the engine its sweet, 80k on the clock make me an offer.
