only different thing I have done is push in the 8 way atx plug where the 4 way came out

I had to check to make sure so I unplugged the other bit and the sound didn't work....as the board is reasonably new this could be the way things are going :confused:

Hiper ones are rubbish, I had a 580w one, it lasted 13 mths and it was the same with the Hiper alu keyboard I bought, do not go near anything they make, it is low grade dressed up, the Thermaltakes seem ok for a cheap psu, antec are supposed to be good but pricey.

Also check the bios has the OB sound enabled, and that you have the drivers loaded.

Had to have the Hiper one as it is still under warranty ......so I have got another 12 months on this one whatever goes in would have to have the 8 pin atx power plug ....Novatech confirmed the sound is supplied by this and will not work without it

Don't buy another one when that one gives up, I was really annoyed about it, and as it followed the keyboard about 4 weeks later I thought it has to be a quality issue.
