I'm starting to like the 85mm 1.4 for candid portraits

OK, these were taken a few weeks ago, but I was rather pleased.

Just goes to show what great isolation you can get with small apertures. Great for candids of kids with facepaint in awe with big bubbles - was at swmbo's xmas work do where I went along and decided to do some shooting... The lighting was terrible, so all of them had flash mainly bounced off the ceiling behind me.

Part of me is considering offering photo services. Nothing too serious like weddings where I'd have to fear bridezilla, but for more informal stuff, it's great fun, particularly going for candids :) Apart from a few exceptions, I find kids terribly to get good shots of - when they see you coming, they always pull faces and whatnot. Great fun to start, but so much more entertaining when you catch them unaware :D

Hmm. Guess there's something strange with trying to hot link picasaweb google photos from a private album.

Changed it around and should be ok.
