ABS pump problems - advice needed

Featured Replies

My 2005 Fabia 1.4 Combi (wagon) has the ABS and ESP lights on. The VAG-COM shows the following fault:

00301--ABS Return Flow Pump (V39) 35-00--

VAG # 6Q0 907 379 H

Coding: 00124

Shop: WSC 13765

Component: ABS/ASR 5.7 Front V40

From what I understand, this could be:

1. A fuse

2. Bad connection

3. Faulty ABS return pump.

Although it no longer does the 'ABS grinding noise', I do have the regular braking functionality.

Q1: Assuming it is not merely a blown fuse or bad connection, is there any way to check if it in fact is the whole Return pump? I read that bba-reman company sells just the electronic part--any way to tell if it might be just that part of the unit? Must the entire unit be replaced in all cases? And lastly, and cheap place to buy the part? I want to get rid of this car as it has been the worst, most breakdown-prone vehicle I have ever owned! Thanks!
