i have an octavia 1.9 tdi 110 bhp and it seems to be very lumpy on the initial first start. it sounds like a fuel blockage? once it gets warmer it seems fine but it does'nt seem to be pulling at top end very well? Any ideas please let me know. thanks.

My guess would be a faulty MAF. A quick test would be to unplug the connector and see if the car runs better or the same. Either would be an indication of a faulty MAF. The MAF is located on the pipe leaving the air filter box.

Spot on, it seems that the plug was loose.

I'ts also not holding back on pull away either.
