18" Alloys on a fabia

Featured Replies

I know that this has been done but I cannot find the thread on this. I've seen a great deal on 18 alloys which look damn good but I just wondered how much arch mod would be needed to pull this one off.

Any comments either for or against would be helpful too

You may find this thread useful.

In summary - it doesn't seem like a good idea although it has been done.

IMO it doesnt look nice with 18"s

And probably ruins the handling as well

Got 18" On My Vrs No Probs At All,no Mods And Dont Catch Even With 2 In Back Needs Lowering Though Thats Me Next Step. I Think 7x19 Would Go On.

I had 215/35 18 tyres on my Astra, not al that bad really.

Personally I dont like that Fabia that Ross linked to, and think that 18's look a wee bit silly, and must make the ride rock hard with the rubber band tyres and probably impacts the cars performance very noticably due to their presumed extra weight...

Edited to add... the 18's dont look bad on that Astra...

the "35" won't be much thinner than a "40" will it as its a % of the width isn't it, so being a 215 wide tyre will be not as much of an elastic band as it suggests?

Well done Jason, you do pay attention.

Why thank you. :D Now this won't happen too often, right! :o

So the 18" alloys fit right on without any archwork? How about once its been lowered?

Is there proof that they can mess up the car's handling?

I personally think 17's are the limit for smaller cars in terms of looks, but im just interested
