Yesterday i was leaving work when i spotted a minter of an ibiza it was a diesel and sounded like it something like a dump valve but it cam from the exhuast, i think, it had more of a whoooosh sound.............. Can anyone help me out to wat this was ?

I used to have a 115bhp PD VW Golf with a de-catted system (amound other things) and the VNT Turbo would make a wicked 'flutter' when you loaded it up at low RPM.

It's just the variable vein system shifting through air inside the turbo. As you load the car up the veins flatten out as turbo speed increases and then when you lift off they move back to their starting position and this is where you get the 'flutter'.
