anyone know what type of bulb lights the number plate ,i think its a festoon but which type also which one's do i get for the interior reason i'm asking is i'm thinking of changing them to led one's , and one more question , anyone know if its illegal to have a differnt colour iluminating your number plate

It is the same bulb as for the sidelights, I changed mine today

All glass affair, Lucas and others call it a 501

Wedge type or 501s as they're known. As for changing the colour, I wouldn't bother. It's just asking to be tugged - might get mentioned during MOT time as well. Get some high powered LED replacements.

I think interior you can do whatever colour you like, but for the numberplates as I recall vehicle lighting regs require white. Not to mention looking like a chav if you go blue etc, as mentioned a pulling magnet.

501's correct in both cases.

does anyone know which festoon one i need to get for the centre the two spots are 501's, the part no specified in the book dosen't match anything

I believe the Centre one is a 39mm Festoon. I would check and just pull the cover off and measure it! Just to make sure!.
