Forge dv question

Featured Replies

Just treated my vrs to a forge dv 007.Question is how do i know i have adjusted it right, also it is very quiet to the point i am a little dissapointed.Cant understand the instructions.Am i doing something wrong?

Cheers

Sorry they are not adjustable. If you wanted more noise than the standard DV you have got the wrong product mate.

You will need a CAI or induction kit to get a decent dumping noise from it.

they are recirculating dump valves not atmospheric so no noise that way the only way you will get the whooshing is to fit a cai as stated above and the only ajustment is the spring as far as im aware.....

p.s what did you expect from the product????

This is an atmospheric one i believe mate.Wasnt expecting anything major just a bit more whooooosssssshhhhh...lol.It has two discharge outlets, one goes back into the inlet side and it also has a trumpet.I did wonder if this was why it is a bit on the quiet side

well to be honest if it is the atmospheric one expect to find fault codes appearing as the octy doesnt like them. search the forum and there is a thread about how the car doesnt like them.. :o

dont no what they are meant to sound like so cant comment...

Sounds like you have the Forge SPLT-R dump valve like mine in this picture:

This DV is both recirculating and atmospheric.

It doesn't make a lot of noise, as others have said, if your looking for more noise, then you'll need a CAI. I have blanked off the atmospheric bit and now use my DV fully recirulating as I find the engine runs a lot better this way.

Hi

yes if it is the SPLITR then it has to be set up to the letter

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/media/USASPLTR.pdf there is the fitting instructions on the valve , fit it to the letter to as I said

Turn it fully to the left , when engine is fully cold. Then when it gets warm , it will start ticking then start to turn it to the right until the ticking stops. Then give 2 turns for luck and away you go

You cannot fit a fully atmo valve on the 1.8T engines as they have been designed to work with diverter valves. So full atmo , can bring on warning lights :(

Sorry

But as has been said , the CAI with a 007p on backwards gives a great sound.

my son has this set up on his MK4 golf and loves it :D
