Service Intervals

Featured Replies

Sorry to sound like a total newbee, however thats exactly what I am! I appreciate that the VRS has a 10k service interval, however can someone please tell me what the "MAJOR" service intervals are please and what is required during them. Just bought the car and loving it to bits just want to make sure that I keep her running beautifully!

Come on somebody must be able to help out please!

the 1st major service is done at 40k IIRC

whats yours done?

When I got mine it had done 43k so I treated it to a major service, which included everything (fuel filter, oil filter, K n N panel filter, oil, fornt and back pads) think thats it, might have missed something though.

mines is an 04 plate so when it turned 4yrs old and hit 53k a got the timing belt, tensioners and water pump done. This might be something for you to think about depending on how old/how many miles your fabia has done?????

Major service list is very comprehensive, so ideally you want either a service book (should come with the car), a Haynes Manual, or trust the work to a dealer or VAG specialist.

As well as brake fluid change, there's Pollen Filter, Fuel Filter, Underbody/suspension/steering/brakes/full diagnostic run etc. etc.

Presumably the car came with a Service Schedule (ie service record) booklet showing services to date? If so, have a read of it and you will see that it contains full details of service intervals and requirements.

My car is an 04 plate with 36k on the clock. Yes it came with full service history and book; however reading all the different threads on here about when to change belts etc its slightly confusing. Sorry if that upsets you DGW, however as I explaned I am new to the Fabia Vrs and was only looking for a bit of advice.

Thanks to the people who have tried to help, its appreciated.

from what ive read on here, Skoda now recommend the cambelt etc is changed after 4 years, regardless of mileage, im pretty sure this is correct but would be better confirmed from someone else, im new to all this too !

mines a Feb 2004 '53 plate and i had mine done a few weeks ago along with the aux belt and water pump

Welcome.

If your need was that urgent, service desks at dealers would have been open today.

The forum isnt populated 24/7, and as such it sometimes takes a few hours or days until someone can answer your question/post - especially on a weekend ;)
