anyone had stage 2 remap from AMDessex

Featured Replies

has anyone had a stage 2 remap done by AMD that would be able to let me in on how it compares to revo and bluefin maybe. i would be interested in comparisons if possible and RR results for the AMD. he thinks i am looking at around 275bhp after the map from them, give or take a few bhp.

they are fitting my new exhaust and air intake, and have offered a very good deal on they're stage 2 map.

my other option is to get the free upgrade to stage 2 with the bluefin stage 1 map i already have.

cheers guys:thumbup:

Hi mate :)

Is there a stage 2 option with bluefin ? I already have stage 1 with bluefin. What will be the difference in stage 2 ?

And i also wonder ... There is already stage 3 for the golf gti... Why not for octavia RS ?

i spoke to a bluefin technician over the phone and he said not to worry about it not showing a stage 2 for the vrs, he said its all the same engine, and all he asks is that you upgrade to full exhaust and change put in an induction kit, or atleast uprated panel filter,

then give him your bluefin handset serial number and he will send the stage 2 map to you via th net, just as the stage 1 was, except for no extra cost.

the quoted results seem less agressive than revo etc, but i think thats what i like about it,

bluefin

thanks mate the news are great ... i have K&N 57-0570 induction kit but stock exhaust :D

i don't think i will be changing the exhaust for a month or two but ask the SC guys to send me the remap however

So what about stage 3 and stage 4 ??? What must we do inorder to get them ? :D

I wouldn't have thought 275hp would be feasible without some other hardware mods? Isn't there a tweak to a fuel pump which frees up more power?

i think stage 3 and 4 must be just like with revo or APR. i guess it requires a new KO4 turbo, intercooler, and all the other little bits, and some severe brake uprade to cope with the extra i might add

thats the firstt thing that popped into my head as well. i expect around 260 to be a realistic target. they must have some very polite rollers for that dyno reading,

Thanks again mate . I e-mailed the bluefin guys for the Stage 2 remap. Now i am looking forward to their reply :)

what email address did you use. i emailed them again tonight cos i had to reinstall bluefin on my computer cos i wiped it. dont know if you read the hoffmeister post in this forum, but he uploaded stage 2 bluefin with just the intake uprated and says it works fine so you possibly could do that yourself. have you got the induction kit or just the panel filter

If the Tuna is a free upgrade then you may as well take that and if at a later date you seek more from it then either discuss it with SC or go elsewhere.

im thinking that as well. eventually i would love to do the s3 ko4 conversion, but i think this is the best option for the time being. lots to do before i get there

I think that Superchips would probably be able to sort you out something for the K04 conversion.

They already do maps for it on the ED30 Golf and S3. It might require a visit to SC HQ though.

I used the same contact e-mail which appers on the left of the screen when i open the bluefin software. If you have problems downloading the bluefin software i can upload it and send the link for you. It is only 2 mgb  I read the Hoffmeister's post after you mentioned and yes the difference is huge as he says only with a panel filter. I got the induction kit . Here you can see (so easy to install)

57-0570 - K&N 57i Series Kits, 57i International Intake Kit

and this is the picture i took after the installation >

Just a quick question - You did remove the OEM filter from the car didn't you??

Is that important then.

id presume so, or the air flow would be even more restricted, because you would have the k&n filter doing its job then the standard OEM filter doing it as well, so twice the filtering.

i might be wrong though!!!

I'm sure he has too but just to confirm really.

Lol :D Of course i removed the panel filter. I did what the instruction manual said. Here you can download it and see the results.
