5th gear new superb test on now

5th gear new superb test on now ....on five

He smashed the windscreen........what a bulb.

Aside from that though a pretty un-thorough test all round. Hitting it with a hammer and asking 'execs' whether they'd buy it or not with the badges taped over.....wow.

Did anyone else notice the irony of taping over the badges to avoid badge snobbery and then to comment on pretty much nothing else about the entire car?

what a boring review.

Whole program was IMO a bit dull

they did that on 4car when the fabia was 1st released i think...

This program is total crapola. Why did they put boxes in the 2 track cars? Why not drive the Superb? How come they didn't put boxes in the Ferrari? If you hit a cheap people carrier with a truck it breaks. The only way to watch this is to record it, it then lasts about 20/30 mins. Lose the competitions, presenters (all of them), boring celebs, constant whats coming up clips, and it'd still be dull.

The current 'car magazine' has a test of executive cars. The Superb came top beating Insignia, Avensis, and other similar cars.

Andy,

Any chance of scanning that test from Car magazine and posting it or sending to my mail address?

thx

Fifth Gear is getting a bit rubbish...

It was good when it was a proper factual alternative (or supplement?) to Top Gear, but now it seems they are trying to copy the BBC show...and failing, epically. It just seems so ...beige!! :thumbdwn: It sort of reminds me of the wishy-washy crap you get in the motoring section of tabloid newspapers...Scottish readers of the Road Record section of the Daily Record will know what I'm on about.

Now even I, an ardent Top Gear fan and follower of the teachings of Clarksonious, will admit that the format is in need of a revamp by now.

But it's still a hell of a lot more watchable than Fifth Gear if you ask me!

*cough* Anyway, back to topic...I nodded off during the Fifth Gear review of the Superb, so I have no idea if it got any more interesting... :o
