New Skoda Octavia Estate coming soon?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My 3 series Coupe has been deemed not family friendly enough and I am now looking around for an estate car. The Octavia comes highly recommended, but the website shows the Octavia Estate "under wraps" with a suggestion that a new model is coming soon. Is this just the 2009 facelift or can we expect a major revamp later in the year?

Many thanks

There's a facelift due with new lights & bumper (to match the new superb), and some revisions to equipment levels.

I'd hold off buying until you can order the new spec.

Thanks Zoidberg.

Any idea on a timeframe?

Not sure

They stopped taking factory build orders for the old style in October and will need to retool the plant for the new model , but I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't started taking orders for the new one now.

I'm sure one of our resident dealers will be able to confirm or deny this soon.

Or you could cut your losses and order one of the few remaining current cars.

I've just ordered an L & K estate with DSG, tyre pressure monitoring, alcantara seats for £16900 on the Road with 12 months RFL - the facelift is largely a cosmetic exercise with a few more goodies but not worth the difference in my opinion given the discounts currently available. Can't wait now!!!

Been to the local dealers in Mansfield, had a good nosey round the facelifted L&K estate they had in the showroom. It was VERY nice, much better than the now-replaced one I thought. It fair exudes quality rather than that "tacked on bells and whistles" effect that can often befall a top end model.

EXCEPT, it still only comes as a bloody PD diesel :thumbdwn:. I mean what good is it building something that screams class, until you turn it on - whats wrong with stuffing the 140 CR under the hood? Surely it'd only cost them a few quid more to do that or have VAG run out of capacity for the CR engines (new Golf and all that)?

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

There isn't really that much difference betwen the facelift and current L&K. All of my bells and whistles are still nicely tacked on.

The CR140 will be passed down the food chain in due course once Audi and VW have had it for a while.

I believe the 140-CR is coming mid 2009?

Have you tried the international site?

In Denmark, my local dealer told me that the face lifted version where planned for February, but are now postponed until the autumn. Simply because they want to clear out most of their "old" version from their stock. :S

Well, that could be bad for me. My plan was to change to facelifted model on the end of next summer. This morning, one friend of mine told me that he urgently needs to change the car, his BMW has 300.000 km and spend most of the time at the dealer. He said he can´t wait until summer, he'll talk with his wife because they've seen A4, 7 years old with 90.000 km for 18.000 euros. He'd give me 20.000 euros for mine, that is 2 years old with 25.000km (full extras, 2.0TDi Sport). Well, that is nice money. Went to dealer to see about facelifted model and he told me they have no news and no idea when it was comming.

As it's good deal for me and it's urgent, I might think between Superb and Mondeo. I just don't like PD engine. Maybe Superb petrol or Mondeo. If he wants to go on with the deal I'll have to react quickly. Uhhh, it gives me headache but I just can't loose the deal.

bosnjo, I think it is a buyers marked out there, especially regarding used and stocked cars, so if you get a good deal for you car you could be in for a great deal. :)

Thanks for opinion. I still don't have any news from my friend, so I'll wait until he says something and see.
